PayHero Africa is now FinoQ

Same team, same platform, same accounts. A new name that says what the product actually does: financial operations, connected in one place.

FinoQ Team

PayHero Africa is now FinoQ

Today PayHero Africa becomes FinoQ. Nothing changes about your account, your channels or the people you talk to. What changes is the name on the door, and the reason is simple: the old name described a product we stopped being a long time ago.

What PayHero was

PayHero started as a way for small businesses in Kenya to get paid through the channels they already had. A paybill, a till, a bank account, an M-Pesa number. We connected to them and put the results in one place.

Then the questions started. Can you check whose account this is before I pay them? Can my sales go to eTIMS without someone retyping them? Can this land in Zoho so my accountant stops asking for statements? Can my three branches stop sharing one M-Pesa statement?

We built those things. And somewhere along the way the product stopped being about payments and started being about everything around a payment: what happens before it, during it and after it.

The problem with the name

Every week someone assumed we were a payment service provider. A new wallet. A new till number to move customers to. We are the opposite of that.

FinoQ is not your new wallet. You are comfortable with how you receive money. Keep your bank, your paybill, your till and your M-Pesa. We connect to them.

FinoQ is not your new accounting software. Keep Zoho Books. We post into it.

FinoQ is not your new eTIMS software. Your sales are fiscalised as they happen.

FinoQ is not your new onboarding platform. Phone, bank account, KRA PIN and ID checks are built in for the day you need them.

It is all of these, connected. Instead of three to six systems to understand your money, you use one. A name with “Pay” in it kept getting in the way of that sentence.

What FinoQ means

FinoQ is short for financial operations. That is the layer we sit in: between the providers a business already uses and the people who need to see the whole picture. Owners. Accountants. Lenders. Developers building a product on top.

What changes for you

Nothing you have to act on.

  • Your login, accounts, channels, API keys and webhooks keep working.
  • The dashboards will pick up the new name over the coming weeks.
  • The phone number and the people answering it are the same.

If you have a question, talk to us. And if you have never used the platform, this is what it does.

Stop juggling. Start running.
