Connect
Tax, books and identity, connected to the money.
Connect is the integrations toolbox behind your FinoQ login. Fiscalise sales with KRA eTIMS, mirror your books into Zoho, and check who you are paying before you pay them. Every module is opt-in, and all of it runs on one credential.
eTIMS
Fiscal receipts in minutes, not a certification project.
Doing eTIMS yourself means OAuth2 with Apigee, OSCU headers, item classification codes, five tax buckets and sequential invoice numbers. Connect turns all of that into your existing login and a four-step wizard.
Device onboarding wizard
Enter the TIN, branch ID and device serial KRA issued, activate the device, and store the communication key encrypted. One account can hold a device per branch.
One-call invoicing
Send a simple JSON invoice or fill a form. Connect registers new items, splits VAT-inclusive prices into KRA's tax buckets, keeps numbers sequential and returns the control unit number.
Credit notes
Reverse a fiscalised invoice with a KRA credit note, choosing a reason such as returned goods, price difference or billing error.
Items with KRA codes
Register products and services ahead of time with plain-language classification and tax-type guidance, and one-click landlord presets for rent.
Simulation and sandbox
Register a device in simulation mode for synthetic receipts with no live KRA calls, or point it at the KRA sandbox before going to production.
Signed webhooks
Subscribe to invoice.completed and invoice.failed, signed with an HMAC header and fired the moment KRA answers.
Books Sync
Keep Zoho Books. Stop retyping into it.
Automatic mirroring
Every fiscalised invoice lands in Zoho Books with net amounts as lines and the VAT total and KRA control number in the notes.
Payments to the right account
Record customer payments against mirrored invoices, book deposits as liabilities, and map each payment method to a Zoho account.
Daily journals
For platforms running their own ledger: send each day's totals and posting rules turn them into one balanced journal per day, with retries.
Reconciliations
Post what every control account should hold and Connect compares it with the live Zoho balance, keeping a run history of every check.
Identity checks
One click tells you whose account it is.
Run a lookup from the dashboard or one API call, and keep an audit trail of every check.
Phone number
Registered name, carrier and line status for Kenyan numbers. Carrier, line type and active status in other supported countries.
Bank account
Enter a bank and account number and get back the account holder's name before any money is sent, for Kenyan and Nigerian banks.
KRA PIN and tax ID
Confirm a KRA PIN is registered and active and see the taxpayer name, or validate a tax ID in other supported countries.
ID, passport and company
Verify national IDs and passports, and look up a company by registration number.
For partners
Hosted onboarding for the merchants you serve.
Create a session by API. Send your merchant to a hosted page. Get them back with a result you confirm server-side.
A partner platform can let its merchants connect an eTIMS device or approve Zoho Books without building the flows itself. The return URL is confirmed on your server, so the result is never trusted from the browser alone.
One credential across the stack.
The FinoQ API key you generate for payments also authenticates Connect. The dashboard carries the full integration guide: onboarding journey, authentication, every endpoint with request and response bodies, VAT split rules and code lookups.
Developer overviewQuestions
Connect, answered.
What do I need to start issuing eTIMS receipts?
The three values KRA issues for an OSCU device: your TIN, branch ID and device serial. The four-step wizard activates the device with KRA and translates any error codes into plain language. You can register in simulation mode first.
Which accounting tools are supported?
Zoho Books, connected over OAuth from any Zoho data centre. Every fiscalised invoice is mirrored automatically with the VAT total and KRA control number in the notes.
How are identity checks priced?
Per lookup, charged to your service wallet with the price shown up front. Already-verified numbers are answered from an encrypted shared cache at a lower price, and failed provider calls are refunded. You can also bring your own Prembly key.
Is Connect a separate account?
No. Connect authenticates with the same API key as Payments, and lives behind your existing login. The Compliance product is switched on per account.
Verify first. Then pay.
Switch on identity checks, eTIMS or Books Sync from your existing account. Connect only what you use.
